Job Description:

Good Shepherd Centres Hamilton, a ministry of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God, strives to enhance the quality of life for all who seek assistance and support in our community. An opportunity currently exists at the Development Office in the role of:

Community Fundraising Coordinator

(Full Time)

Reporting to the Manager of Events, the Community Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for attending community events accepting cheques and donations and offering thanks on behalf of Good Shepherd. The successful candidate will arrange for pickup of donations by collaborating with warehouse staff and ensure all donor initiatives are properly documented at the time of pickup.  The Coordinator will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with the goal of increasing participation in food drives, clothing drives and third-party fundraising events. The successful candidate will track donor information in the Raisers Edge database and will contact donors regularly to thank them by email, telephone or a visit in person. The successful candidate will complete thank you calls on a monthly basis to steward Good Shepherd’s donors.  The coordinator will act as backup to the events manager and will assist with and attend Good Shepherd Events.

Requirements

Requirements include a Community College Diploma in a related field and 3- 5 years experience in a similar capacity.  A demonstrated commitment to the values rooted through Hospitality of availability, responsibility, adaptability, quality and dignity.  Excellent communication and organizational skills.  Excellent computer skills including experience with Raiser’s Edge is considered an asset.  A motivated individual and team player.  Fluency in a 2nd language is an asset.
