The Corporate and Community Engagement Coordinator is passionate about YWCA’s mission and serves as a mission ambassador internally and externally. The Corporate and Community Engagement Coordinator works cross-departmentally to support all YWCA fundraising initiatives and encourages all individuals to engage in a culture of philanthropy at YWCA Hamilton.


  • Reporting to the Campaign Officer, the Corporate and Community Engagement Coordinator serves as a key member in YWCA Hamilton’s Development Team and provides leadership to YWCA Hamilton’s individual giving and corporate engagement portfolio, Turning Point Giving Circle and Be the Recipe for Change program.
  • Individual & Community Giving
  • Meeting with donor prospects and actively engaging them in a way that is authentic and meaningful. Individuals are exceptionally stewarded with the intention to increase philanthropic support to meet development and organizational objectives. 
  • Identification of program needs and working with individual/community donors alongside the Special Events & Community Fundraising Coordinator to meet those needs. Examples include donation drives, holiday cooking/donations, wish list activation.
  • Corporate Engagement
  • Research, identify and recommend corporate fundraising opportunities to which YWCA Hamilton could be a recipient of funds and provide leadership on outreach, proposal development and stewardship/recognition deliverables.
  • Serve as the organizational point person for corporate sponsorship requests for all YWCA Hamilton events and initiatives.
  • Work to cross pollinate corporate engagement with YWCA program and service areas to strengthen corporate engagement through volunteerism, engagement in programs.
  • At the Table
  • Develop and implement code of conduct and new ways of engagement to ensure a meaningful and empowering experience for all involved.
  • Develop and implement stewardship strategy for all Be the Recipe for Change and Adopt a Meal participants to continue and strengthen engagement and encourage ambassadorship in the community.
  • Working alongside the Transitional Living and At the Table team to provide oversight to all planning, logistics, communications and relationship aspects to ensure program success and positive participant experiences.
  • Giving Circles
  • Proactively identifies and cultivates giving circle members to build prospect pipeline while ensuring that stewardship initiatives are fulfilled for all active members.
  • Conducts cross-departmental outreach to encourage department’s involvement in Turning Point initiatives to fulfill the circle mandate.
  • Provide support and leadership while working with the Campaign Officer to ensure giving circle integration with capital campaign where and when required.
  • Administration
  • Oversee budgets/expenses related to individual/corporate giving programs.
  • Identify and evaluate risks associated with individual, corporate and community giving and takes appropriate action to control the risks.
  • Working with Donor Relations & Database Administrator to ensure all support is tracked and recognized as per stewardship plans and CRA guidelines.

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of fundraising experience in non-profit organizations;
  • Strong relationship management skills with demonstrated success in developing and cultivating relationships;
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills;
