Job Description:

  • Ensure daily product shipments are met
  • Complete accurate paperwork and produce computerized packing slips
  • Inform the President of any problems which may occur
  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Measure and cut materials accordig to requested specifications
  • Able to read and interpret drawings
  • Able to comprehend written and verbal instructions
  • Calculate precise measurements to maximize material usage and minimize waste
  • Provide written and / or verbal instructions as to proper assembly sequence and any special characteristics of the fabric products
  • Record materal usage on bill of materials
  • Update inventory control system of materials after each usage
  • Measure and communicate inventory and accuracy
  • Provide general maintenance of equipment and tools used within the shipping department
  • Maintain a safe, clean and tidy work environment, discarding or returning materials to their proper inventory location
  • Maintain proper and accurate accounting of time on time cards
  • Communicate effectively with the President about potential problems, schedule changes and existing concerns
  • Monitor and review all inbound and outbound products within the shipping department, ensuring any concerns and quality of product are corrected and communicated to the President
  • Maintain a positive attitude and positive employee and customer relations
  • Maintain good attendance record
  • Willing to accept additional responsibilities / duties / projects when required as assigned by the President



  • Ability to follow instruction
  • Effective English communication verbal and written skills
  • Basic computer skills (Email, Excel, MS Word)
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Willing to complete training courses related to inventory control, material handling, fork lift and propane operations if required
  • Maintains a current forklift and propane sit operator's license and a valid driver's license
  • Has a clear understanding of potential health and safety hazards within a manufacturing facility and is familiar with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Legislation
  • Excellent attention to detail
