Youth Services provides support to 15 co-ed homeless youth ages 16-21 as well as a 21 bed youth shelter, including youth who have ongoing contact or involvement with CAS/CCAS/Probation/Youth Justice System/ AY/ADGS and other family counseling agencies. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to the mission values rooted through Hosipitality of availability, responsibility, adaptability, quality and dignity with sensitivity to the issues related to poverty, homelessness, mental illness, addictions and developmental disabilities.The Cook/Cleaner enhances the dignity and quality of life of our clients through the assumed responsibility for cleaning services in accordance with the Role Description, as well as maintaining adequate supplies related to cleaning.
Applicants must possess a minimum of a one year cleaning experience in a residential facility (preferred). Excellent written and oral communication skills are a necessity. Experience working with the homeless would be an asset. Certification in CPR or a willingness to be certified is also required. Fluency in a second language is considered an asset.
