Medical Transfer Attendant

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

Working as part of a team, the Patient Transfer Driver (Medical Transfer Attendant) is responsible for the safe transport of patients via stretcher and wheelchair to or from a healthcare facility, nursing home or private residence.

Qualifications:

  • Updated First Aid and Level C CPR Certification
  • A valid 'G' Ontario Driver's Licence
  • A Clean Driver's Abstract
  • A willingness to obtain a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Lift test required
  • A current Immunization Record with a mandatory DPT vaccination (Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus)
  • Available to work 12 hours shifts (days, nights and/or weekends)

 

Dispatch Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Dispatch Supervisor will oversee and lead the dispatch team. The Dispatch Supervisor will ensure that patient transfers are on time and that exceptional customer service is provided at all times. Working closely with the Dispatch Manager, the Dispatch Supervisor ensure dispatchers is meeting all required capacities and efficiencies on a daily basis. Working with the management team, the Dispatch Supervisor also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to the safe work/risk management policies and procedures of Spectrum Patient Services.
  • Works within the Ethical Practice Framework of Spectrum Patient Services.
  • Understands the range of services provided by each division of the Spectrum family and how it contributes to our model of Total Client Care.
  • Continually assesses, anticipates, identifies and responds to new and changing needs of clients and communicates available Total Client Care resources to clients when appropriate.
  • Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
  • Monitors, directs, and participates in emergency dispatching work.
  • Designs, revises, and/or reviews work instructions for the area, and interprets them for subordinate.
  • Maintains steady visibility and tracks all scheduling boards across every day.
  • Provided up to date “Next Available” times every hour
  • Assist in setting guidelines and performance indicators for staff.
  • Making plans and strategies to improve the overall performance in the department,
  • Review regular reports such as DDRs make the necessary follow ups with Management.
  • Plays a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
  • Assists in identifying staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained.
  • Provide assistance to Manager for reviewing individual performance from time to time.
  • Dispatch during busy time
  • Catch overflow calls to contribute to a 100% productivity target 18. Other duties as assigned.
  • Receptive to feedback and willing to contribute positively to the Call Centre

Qualifications:

  • A diploma or college degree is preferred
  • Communications Dispatcher certification or similar is an asset
  • 5 plus years of dispatch experience
  • 1-3 years of team lead or supervisor experience preferably in a busy call center environment
  • Experience in organizational effectiveness and implementing best practices
  • Valid police check

  • Excellent computer skills and proficient in excel, Word, outlook, and access

Dispatcher

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Dispatch Supervisor, the Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating various types of services, schedule requests and dispatching the appropriate personnel in response to service calls. The dispatcher is also responsible for processing requests by field crews, facilitating information flow between administrative staff and field personnel, and performing assigned clerical and billing functions. Dispatchers work in a team environment and collaborate with the “Call-Takers” in order to determine the appropriate crews, pick-up times including required equipment for each service request.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, update and control the location and movement of field, while facilitating communications.
  • Communicates with field crews to ensure appropriate resources, priorities and all necessary allocations.
  • Monitor and document response times of units, investigating and reporting all response time exceptions.
  • Act as initial point of contact for troubleshooting, schedule adjustments.
  • Maintains cordial working relationships with assigned drivers and assistants.
  • Operate two-way radio base stations; record radio communications as required.
  • Correctly receive and enters all information regarding the request or change of a transfer into the system accurately and within the standard time allowance.
  • Maintains excellent knowledge of company policies, procedures and medical protocols including CBA.
  • Maintains a calm, non-emotional and professional atmosphere in the communications center at all times.
  • Participates in filling vacancies for sickness, vacation and other time off.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • A diploma or college degree is preferred
