Now Hiring: Part time Commission-based Sales Rep


About Us:

Fashionable Jewels is a Hamilton-based family business that exhibits at various fairs, festivals, events, schools and hospitals around Southern Ontario. You may have seen us at St. Joseph's Hospitals, Sound of Music Festival, Buskerfest, McMaster and Mohawk, among others. We have been in business over 15 years and have an opening for a fantastic salesperson to join our team. With our tarnish-resistant rhodium and Swarovski Crystal jewelry designs, we have built up a large network of fantastic customers who see us at the events we exhibit at every year. The perfect candidate would be entrepreneurly minded, focused on customer service first and sales second, and understand how to close sales without being pushy. The first few months will be under 20 hrs a week, but after you're trained I can schedule events based on how many hours you want to work, up to 40 hours.



-Have a proven sales record- this is a commission based job so the more you sell the more you make! Guaranteed at least minimum wage for hours worked, but our sales rep last Saturday earned $400 on his 12 hour shift! Average day commission works out to ~$150 for 8 hours.


-Must be available on weekends, as well as occasional weekdays (Thursdays and Fridays especially)


-Must have own vehicle and be able to come to events within ~1 hour from Hamilton. Van or truck an asset but not required. Most events are within the Hamilton area, but we also frequent Exhibition Place and the International Center, among other venues. Occasional London dates available but optional.


-A great personality- As we are a small family business, you'll be working with the same 2-3 people at each show. We like to joke around, chat, and enjoy the festivals we attend; the perfect candidate will get along with a professional yet laid-back atmosphere.


-Be willing to commit to venues 3+ months out- our calendar and your hours will usually be booked well in advanced, so if you want more hours I can book more venues, but you have to commit to those hours once they're booked.


-Be able to lift 50lbs, stand for extended periods of time, do minor physical labour (setting up a tent at festivals, unloading buckets of jewelry, setting up tables, etc.)
