Job Description:

Good Shepherd Non-Profit Homes Inc. Hamilton, a ministry of the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God, strives to enhance the quality of life for all who seek assistance and support in our community. There is an upcoming opportunity within our Good Shepherd Housing Department in the role of:

Two (2) Landscaper – Summer Student Positions

(30 Hours per Week/ 8 Week Contract)

In a compassionate, hospitable and non-judgmental manner the student will assist in the maintenance of all Good Shepherd Properties.  Area of care will include all lawns, gardens and some tree trimming. 

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to the mission values of availability, flexibility adaptability hospitality and dignity with sensitivity to the issues related to poverty, homelessness, mental illness, addictions and developmental disabilities.  Previous experience in landscaping is considered an asset. Fluency in a 2nd language is an asset. Having a valid G Ontario Driver’s License and experience with driving a truck with trailer is considered an asset. Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills are critical to this position.

This candidate must be under the age of 30 and returning to full time studies in the fall of 2018.
